Mottled and black are the same bird with the exception of mottled carrying two mottled genes. Problem is they are worlds apart from mille fleur. Black/mottled should be silver based. MF are gold based. MF should be partridge and B/M need to be extended black. MF also carry columbian genes as...

The best way would be porcelain to porcelain. But you can breed porcelain to MF and those chicks will be MF carrying the lavender gene. Breed them back to porcelain and you will get half porcelain and half MF carrying lavender. Breed them together and you would get 25% porcelain 50% MF carrying...

The self blue is totally different then the porcelain. Self blue is lavender on extended black. Porcelain is lavender on MF. MF should be on Wheaton. But it has other genes in play to complete the pattern. The buff color, Columbian pattern, mottled, etc. A lot of genes involved are recessive so...

Self blue x porcelain will not give you any porcelains but you would get the lavender color on all chicks. Chicks should be all pure lavender color but i would guess some would have leakage.

In the non show world it is usually referred to as lavender. There are a lot of breeds that come in lavender or a pattern with lavender. Most are not a...

Breeding two porcelain together will give you all porcelain nothing else. Breeding a self blue to a porcelain will give you zero porcelain. Imo unless you really know your genetics all youll get is a mess. To get porcelain you need to get the lavender gene from each parent but you also need to...

He doesn't sound like he knows what he's talking about. Would make me question the quality of the birds since it sure doesn't sound like he's a show breeder. Two porcelain will produce all porcelain offspring. A porcelain is a mille fleur pattern with two copies of the lavender gene. Without...
