That's a good question Debbi...........I am such a hatchaholic. There is a breeder up in Oregon that has a partner. She hatches & broods all the chicks & er partner takes them to her ranch & grows them out & the share. I need that kind of deal.....LOL

I am VERY tempted to get more Marans eggs and start over, but I just can't bring myself to not narrow it down. I think I would be tossing some nice birds that may not be guilty and finding the eggs I want to start over with will be near impossible...

Are Marans more suseptible to heat than other breeds of chickens? It has been pretty hot here lately close to 100 degrees & I lost a young pullet about 4 months old yesterday with no apparent reason. I lost a couple of others awhile back too & it always seems to be the Marans. They have plenty...
