Things are looking much better! The slimy stuff has mostly dried up and I feel like it will fall off soon It's being held on by a very thin dried up piece.
He is having trouble standing and he can't really walk yet. He is drinking and eating. I'm currently feeding him crushed up, water...
How long should it take for the cord to start to dry up? or fall off?? it's been about 7 or 8 hours and it doesn't look much different. He keeps moving around and it seems like it's getting spun and tightened
i did help him out. He fell from a tree where his mother had a nest. He was having trouble breaking free so i opened the top for him. Then i let him to the rest on his own.(which he did)
he's in a moist environment now but i'm afraid he's trying to stand up now, and i don't want him to drag...
Hey everyone, the duck that has been hatching finally got out but he is still attached to his shell and it looks to be his umbilical cord holding him there. should i leave him in the moist bator or take him out and put him under the heat lamp? i'll post a picture.
Thanks ahead of time!
