It's been awhile since I've been here. I had the worst summer ever. All my chickens caught some respiratory thing that is making its way through North Texas and had to be culled. I tried two different meds, and neither worked. It was awful!! :hit
I'm letting the area sit to disinfect until...
I've been playing with some new flour that is a heritage, hard red wheat, and has 16.5% protein. Love it!
100% sourdough bakes. No commercial yeast.
I've also been trying out some different roll recipes.
Also playing with gluten-free, making progress. :)
I got new chicks, and my big girls are laying eggs. :) I did lose my cream legbar to some wicked respiratory thing that killed her in less than 48 hours. I did save her eggs though.

New babies. Mystery bantam from Ideal. FBCM, and Cream legbar -...
I made black once, and flavored it with anise for halloween cat cookies for my son's kindergarten class. The kids that did eat them, had black teeth for the rest of the day. :)

Mine are from all over the world, and one is gluten-free for my customers that want gluten-free bread. Each one is different - flavor, and behavior. I have one that is dried, that I don't use. I don't like it. My favorite one is from Israel.
I haven't been on here lately. Here are some of my latest bakes. And my very first pullet egg from my cream legbar, Olive. :)
Sourdough breads. Two varieties.
Sourdough cinnamon raisin bread. I thought I'd try golden raisins this time. I like dark raisins in it better. ;)
I made...
I haven't used it, but I've seen breads baked with it online (fb bread group). I don't remember what the person said about it. The bread looked good though.
Jag lär mig svenska.
My morfar (grandfather on mother's side) was from Norway, and my mormor (grandmother on mother's side) was from Sweden. Minnesota is called the Land of 10,000 Swedes. ;) Really it's 10,000 lakes....
