It really is a sugar cookie recipe. It's pretty swell I think, soft cookies. Has ginger and cinnamon in it too kinda ginger snappish but texture and that brown sugar note make it pretty amazing to me.
She loves to thank God. Got her sewing too! DW came from the era of the out to dinner every single night and if something breaks or whatever buy a new one. I grew up in South Texas with nothing. So I'm glad to pass the skills to her. She can turn a mean wrench too ;)
The recipe came from 1947...
I can't wait to go out to the woods and get huckleberries. I'm gonna be a baking FOOL!!! This week has been really productive with my sourdough experiments, taste is amazing and DD loves it in her lunch. I also got DD in the kitchen and let her make coconut macaroons. Got the recipe out of a...
Starter as I know it is typically AP or even bread flour and water or milk basically fermented. I have to "convert" one to whole wheat flour, I might even try to feed it buttermilk along with WW flour. It take a couple weeks in my house to get it really going, it never gets above 65 in here. So...
Alton Brown is great! I wish I could have gone to watch him on his tour. Came through Spokane. I baked a 100% whole wheat sourdough, finally have a converted starter. It came out amazing. Baked a white one too but the whole wheat tastes better IMO.
Made the ugliest loaf of sourdough I've ever made today then sourdough pizza crust with some extra starter. It was some kind of good!! Then we all had a couple PB cookies for desert. WIN
17x12 pan didn't make it far!
They're pretty wonderful. Not too squishy not dry. A great traditional pb cookie. I only cooked them for 13-15 minutes. Still getting a handle on this oven in our rent house. Not a fan at all but it works to make cookies and bread!!
Making these as I type this with DD. I substituted 2/3c honey for the sugar and used organic cane brown sugar. Just added 2 extra tbs of flour as well. Smells pretty dreamy in here right now. PB cookies are my fav!
