My hen, Aayla, had stopped laying after getting overly picked on by another hen. She had pecked out all of her feathers in her bottom (the bully has since been rehomed). About a week and a half ago, I found one of her eggs outside of the nester, and it had been crushed. I thought perhaps it somehow got knocked out of it. She had been going and sitting inside of the nester a few times since, but no eggs. Shes been eating fine, walking normal, seemed fine otherwise and I felt around and didn't feel an egg (I did not check internally), so I didn't think she was eggbound. She's very prone to broodiness, so thats what I thought was happening.
Tonight as I was closing them up, I noticed her in the nester with her back end facing me, and I watched her push out a egg, with zero shell or membrane, just whites and an intact yolk. After, she pushed out whats pictured. It feels like a soft egg, with fluid inside. She then went up to her roost to sleep. I did notice there was less food eaten today than usual (I only have four, so if one doesn't eat, it's noticeable). She seemed fine in the few minutes I saw her before I went to work, but I was not home all day and I don't know if she was eating.
Has anyone else experienced this? How would you proceed?
