Isa's Homestead Happenings and Hangout

blown up to 500 acres at the last update. in less than 8 hours.
5 tankers today. They just diverted 2 o the medium tankers to pick up a new fire to the east of us about 80 miles
Is this worse than normal? I looked it up but I'd rather hear from someone without an agenda

it really depends. We didn't get any significant winter rain, and the couple of storms we did get just pushed up grass and brush. No real rain for weeks now, so that's all dead and dying. We are expecting a bad fire season, so are most of the states in the West.

This specific area is not normally one there are issues with, but this is the second large fire in less than a month. I'm sure this one will also be traced back to recreational humans making bad choices. In this case though, it's a lot closer to houses so they'll be more aggressive fighting it.

Fire season for us can start as early as March, but TYPICALLY it's the worst in mid-june - mid-sept.
