how did you resolve the issue with them slurping up weeds? we are not allowed to free range(i would not anyway as we have tons of hawks and owls) and i like to give the ladies stickywilly, grass etc so they have greens. the grass is usually in a clump from weeding so that's probably safe🙄silly...
We got 4 cream legbar day old chicks from TSC 3 1/2 weeks ago.
I know they are autosexing and looked "right"( chipmunk stripe and eye liner.) one chick had a slightly less dark and less continuous stripe but not significantly different
all of a sudden, one looks very different! in the last...
i would suggest waiting to rehome as my 7 jam themselves together on a 54" roost bar by choice. also we have a covered run that i winterize by putting tarps over the screen to block the wind and they stay only in the run, never go into the insulated coop🙄
i wanted them to have lots of vertical...

we have a midnight majesty maran named raul...she is my fave. she actually lays more than she is supposed to and her eggs are huge and dk brown/speckled plus she is super sweet and docile.
all mine were from TSC last july and are healthy ladies, no roos.
i am seeing a ton of chicks dying posts...

we are looking for land in the albany ny area. northumbria/gansevoort and chatham are two areas I can find land but they have zero info about chicken regulations. i want to make sure i do not buy somewhere where chickens are highly regulated
my barred rock lays very light brown/tan medium sized eggs.
she is a sweet girl and lays most days but her eggs are the smallest of my flock(isa browns, midnight majesty maran, amberlink and olive egger)
new chicken mom here...i am very interested in your post because i was handling our 4 week old silkies this morning and the one i named matil peck my hand as i went to pick her up. i reached back into the box they are in and noticed she(or he) literally was following my hand and definitely was...
