I have seen advice on putting a member of the older flock with the younger. My pullet run is pretty small, so I would worry that space would add to the stress instead of the exp being beneficial.
Good day all~
I have my main flock of Australorps and Sebrights that I want to add three 6 week old pullets to. The problem I am facing is that my pullets are already the size of the four month old Sebright bantams. This prevents the usual "provide a hiding place for the littles to get away from...
I used a hodge podge of hardware cloth and left over chicken wire from another build. I have yet to have anything dig around or in the mulch I buried it in.
For yours, a hot wire might work, though I'd wonder how they perform in the rain.
Hey duck enthusiasts!
I have a friend in Northern Utah who have a couple of wild mallards who are hanging about their property. They have named them and don't mind them in their yard doing their thing. However, the ducks seem to like hanging around their door and leaving their droppings all...

Thank you for your quick advice! I will add this into their water. Can't really do much more about stress.
I do have chicks- should I be extra diligent about bio controls to prevent the little ones from getting the virus? They are currently in brooder and not with the flock.
Title is descriptive.
I have a silver Sebright roo who had a scab on his comb form earlier this week. I thought it was due to pecking from the other rooster and was monitoring for any signs of continued abuse or damage. Thankfully there has been no fighting from the roosters or any hen pecking...
I attached hardware cloth with staples on structure of my run. When I did an apron, I zip tied the top edge to the bottom of the vertical areas, making sure to overlap a little and add one every 8-10 squares. I can take a picture if you'd like
Yuuuppppppppp- the math hit today. Rehomed the two roosters and got three new week old hens. Pepper the Cuckoo Maran, Rosemary and Thyme the Olive Eggers.
It does seem to be, though I was a little late in getting out there today so he probably already started eating when I had checked.
I think it was just a passing thing, as he is acting generally normal again. I appreciate your time, Wyorp.
