Hi so I have one duckling in the process of hatching while the other 3 eggs haven't made an internal pip yet (though 2 of them are trying). Once the duckling hatches and dries off, should I leave it in the incubator and wait for the others to hatch or put it in the brooder?
I was correct about egg 4 being internally pipped!! I'm very happy and excited, I can hear its little peeps!! I expect a baby to start hatching by tomorrow (hopefully but if not I'll have to make a safety hole :))
Yeah I thought egg 6 and 8 were a bit behind but they seem to be rocking a lot and egg 6 looks like its trying to make an internal pip although they are all on day 28 at the moment.
Yup egg 4 has made an internal pip (pretty sure, I candled it earlier today and saw its beak and heard...
Do you mean give them a tiny safety hole on day 29 even without an internal pip? I plan on giving egg 4 a safety hole after 24 hours since thats the only one that has internally pipped.
I have spoke to a few people that have calls but that was last year. Should I ping them?
Also I don't have...
Oh my god just as I thought everything was gonna go downhill, egg 4 has internally pipped!! I don't hear any peeping yet but I can hear it chewing/yawning!! And I saw a little shadow beak moving around in the air cell!! I am so happy and so proud.
I assume egg 7 will be internally pipping soon...
Today is day 28 actually.
Egg 4 keeps rocking so much it's tilting the egg ToT
None of them have internally pipped (as far as I know, I did just wake up and have yet to check them) and from what I know, they don't peep until they have internally pipped so how would I know when to assist?
Since...
Back again (lol) because I have a few questions.
I have 4 call duck eggs (4, 6, 7 and 8). 4 and 7 have been in lockdown since May 22nd (day 23) and 6 and 8 went into lockdown yesterday (day 26)
The following video is a video of egg 4 trying to internally pip. Both egg 4 and 7 have looked like...
I was wondering how to know if a duckling is shrink wrapped without an internal pip. I've had to assist a shrink wrapped duckling without an internal pip before and she hatched fine but I don't remember how I knew she was shrink wrapped so I was wondering how to know so I can keep an eye out...
Okay thank you!
Is there any point that I should assist if there hasn't been an internal pip after a certain amount of time? I've actually never dealt with internal pips as the only ducklings I've ever hatched either hatched on the wrong side or hatched on their own while I wasn't home so I'm a...
I have had two call duck eggs in lockdown for three days (put in lockdown on day 23, its now day 26) neither of them have internally pipped but are still quite active, rocking around sometimes, especially when I play duckling noises.
If neither of them have internally pipped by tomorrow morning...
Hi so I've had two call ducklings in lockdown for 3 days (they went in lockdown May 22nd which was day 23 for them, they are now on day 26) and they've been active, rocking back and forth sometimes and I candled and they seem to be trying to make an internal pip (I can see a small shadow trying...
