I think my girls are about 2 years old now, and the prolapse happened last month. It was a large amount that was outside, there's a pic in one of the other threads about prolapsing that is what hers was like, big as an egg anyway on the right and looked like anus on the left. All went back in...
I pushed the whole pill into her mouth, goes in real easy.
For an update, she had 3 more bouts with the prolapse and was doing the pushing movement but it always went back in where it belonged after 1 or 2 days. It seems like her pushing was part of her own cure, don't know how but she'd be...
It's not chain link, it's poultry netting, like pvc covered chicken wire, very easy to deal with unlike regular chicken wire. You could go to wayfair.com and search chicken runs, there are a bunch. You can go here - https://www.wayfair.com/brand/bnd/tucker-murphy-pet-b46603-masterClID~2960.html

I got one and love it. They come in different sizes, wayfair.com. I customized the back section by enclosing it and putting in nestboxes and roosts. Being in the desert the front open section is being covered with shade cloth and a new tree was planted for future shade. I put it on top of...
I don't know how things turned out for your hen but for future reference hemorrhoid cream is usually called Preparation H. And in all of my years of having chickens none have ever touched the oyster shells I've offered. Better off crushing and feeding egg shells if you ask me.
So about 5 or 6 days ago one of our black Spanish Andalusian hens was acting off, we found she had a prolapsed vent. Came here and started reading posts. I tried everything associated with pushing it back in while she just pushed it back out. None of the other chickens could see her situation...
I've just had an interesting prolapse situation, came here and read all of the posts on what to do. Came back here just now to post how it turned out, I'll do that in a new post.
Just thought I'd post an update on my rooster. He slowly regained use of his feet, he worked on it every day. He's now even running - but is still a little clumsy. He's still not roosting yet and sleeping on the ground. Time will tell if he gets completely back to normal or not but it looks...
Well my rooster is still having the same problems, he's been getting the epsom salts, pedialyte, and pumpkin mix and does seem a bit stronger. Also still adding in the Ionic-Fizz.
I know it's not something inherited, this guy's a few years old and mean as heck. I've had to keep him penned up...
I'm just now having the same problem with a Rhode Island Red rooster. That's how I ended up here, looking for an answer.

I've had a picking problem on and off over the years, I read that if you add some salt to their water for a few days it stops the picking. In my case it has every time.
