A cute Indian Runner and is the other a Pekin or another Runner? Runners have the most unusual flat front bill. They are adorable -- and like our Silkies Runners don't fly! My folks had a sea of white birds -- Pekin ducks, White Leghorns (some were Babcocks), and some Toulouse with white bellies and rumps. Ahhhh -- memories, sigh!

Have you seen this UK youtube? UK has such lush backyards while mine always looks like a desert brown cuz of our So. Calif. water-use restrictions. I sure wouldn't mind a couple of Runners in the yard for slugs. Our chickens won't eat the slimey critters so I have to hunt for slugs myself after a rain and Sluggo them in a bucket!

sry I just got back from a few crazy busy days. One of my chocolate Orpington hens passed away and the other was missing her terribly! she is my only hen amongst a dozen ducks, so today I took a trip and picked up 2 more choc orp poults, and now my Stella is so happy!

Awww! I've had to do that before myself! I had only 2 Silkies who grew up together and when one died I got two more Silkies. The 3 toodled around together in the mixed flock with the older Silkie girl teaching the two younger. Alike breeds do seem to stay with their own breed.
