    HDD 4 egg incubator

4 egg HHD incubator I bought second hand for 10€ In this tiny incubator I can only turn the 55g eggs up and down. Strange I have to turn the eggs up and down, especially when they develop later in the process. I believe it is more natural to lay the eggs sideways and roll them over to the other...

Théo and the chickens des Sauches

Love is in the air! :gig Glad see seems better now. Did you try to give human Calcium tablets? The ‘chicken docters’ advice to give a week to soft shell layers and see if it helps. But if its because of an underlaying health issue it probably doesn’t help. I had a neighbours cat locked up in...

So far so good! I did candle 4 of the eggs from underneath the broodies. They are underneath the broody from Wednesday evening. The torch I have to candle is broke. Therefore I used my mobile with the ring of the candle torch. It worked but didn’t get a clear image of the veins. After 5 whole...

Trying to make a chicken broody! Help!

Inside space is okay. But outside space is important too. Do you let her free range and take a dust bath when she pleases?

Trying to make a chicken broody! Help!

Who said to lock her up in a nestbox? Thats stupid imho. Maybe you are not ready for this event?. Don’t be afraid. Watch, see and act after things (almost) go wrong. Leave the choices to your hens. Or give her a separate coop with run to brood quietly (maybe a prefab).

Yes. But,…. The farmers won’t cooperate. They are afraid export will be forbidden for vaccinated poultry. 🤬😤😡😖

Shadrach's Ex Battery and Rescued chickens thread.

I have 2 bowls with chick feed and one with layer. Not because I want to poison Tintin, but the layer gets old and its a waist to throw it away. The laying hens eat from the layer and the chick feed. Havent seen Tintin and momma Pearl eating from the layer. Momma and son are out and about...

    Hi hi

Welcome! Great introduction. Enjoy, search, read, ask and learn! Btw: bantam is not a chicken breed. It’s a size. I believe any chicken under 1.4-1.5 kilo is a bantam by definition. There are a lot of bamtam breeds in the world to enjoy.
