Wintering With The Flock
Our experience wintering with 19 hens and 3 ducks in the often frigid Ontario countryside!
As much as we'd like to say we're very organized and prepared for the weather we know will come, we certainly are not prepared at all. That said, we do our best throughout the...
My dad ended up with glasses at 50.
I've worn glasses since I was 13, and my brother since he was 13.
I hope you had fun with your frames! I sure did...
I have astigmatism in both eyes and my prescription has been getting stronger every year.
We have 4 Mini Poodles and man are they ever a riot! We have 2 very smart Poodles, a Dark Apricot and a Red/White Parti, a very stupid Buff Poodle LOL She's so silly, and our nearly 1 year old Chocolate. None of our poodles sit or anything, they're all too hyper all the time LOL.
You will have...

Hi! Whereabouts in England are you from? My family hails from Harlow, Essex and Stansted Mountfitchet. I was raised in my early years in England until about 6 or 7 when my brother was born. We back at 13 and again at 16 but haven't been able to make it back home since.
I plan to one...
I've never had a fence breaker. My old gelding would walk over the fence in the winter when he was living in Saskatchewan. The snow got so high he could just step right over the fence and walk off. Once we found him 10km away in an out of season corn field.
In light of a recent thread about our dogs names, I thought it would be interesting to hear all the horse owners, horses names! Post a photo with your names and it should be lots of fun!
I have Mylie
and Luna
Post away all you horse ownin' BYCers!

Weather your 100 pounds or 500 pounds you do not control a Belgian. It chooses to lessen to you if it is trained good but you do not control it.
By control I mean, she couldn't even get her legs half way round the horses barrel. When she was up there, it was like watching a baby on the...
Luls gritsar, we had a stocking on my horses stalls every year and one year Pal ate the stocking well before christmas. He had learnt how to sneak the treats out of it while we weren't looking.
Christmas morning last year we came in to the living room to find my cat, Accio, had done us a favour...
I know eh, I was 'given' a horse for christmas when I was 13, but what I really mean is we leased him for 3 months and my parents officially bought him on christmas for me.
We had a family buy one of our Mini Labradoodles who were gifted a German Shepherd puppy for Christmas. The dog was just far too big for the children to handle and care for, it shedded everywhere and they just couldn't handle the animal. The kids were upset, but they eventually rehomed the dog...
I'm going into town tomorrow and I'm going to pick up a clicker from Petsmart. I've already started this process accidentally. Food has been used in clicker training with horses very succesfully for years. I recognize the risks of working with my mare, but there is risk with horses in general...

You don't know me or my horse. I asked for suggestions on reading material and not input on my training techniques. Given that you can't be here in person and see how I work with her, you can't really offer input based on what I've written on a post. I called her food motivated but all...
Ugh, I know, don't they cost an absolute fortune? The one I've found is from a local tack shop, it's a 'hobby' round pen and costs about $1800 for a 50ft. I'm starting with a 50ft and then buying some extra panels to get a 60ft.
I read your post on Sedona on BYH! I'm glad to hear you like her...
