    I notice that happens with my heavy bird Isbe. Its like she fears her balance isn’t good, and she might fall. She has been like this even as a chick, though.

    Of course. Its definitely a time consuming process, but i am seeing some improvement. Im going to finish off the surgery in a bit, hopefully can get the plug completely out.

    Yes, of course. I have not previously recorded the surgery, other then a few pictures here and there. I can post those later and i’ll document what i do today.

    Yeah! My broodies are always so floppy when i take them off, you know? Like they just make no efforts to move.

    I don’t pick them from above, i just tightly hold down their wings and lift them upwards when needed. The only time i do that is when i need to see the feet for bumble foot or something.

    Mine shed a lot, but they will also molt. Silkies are just prone to loose a little more feathers, cause they are very fluffy.

    Oh no! You definitely aren’t. Mine was covered like yours when i first had 3, its become less of a problem now. (Because i just have one) Sorry i gave that impression!

    No. I had 3 bearded silkies at the time when it was really bad. I dunno, they just had a lot of fluff i guess. Its not as bad now because i just have 1, but still. (They all looked the same the next day)
