I was hoping there would be another puzzle, but didn't want to be pushy!

    MJ's little flock

I was having trouble with the more complex puzzle on my phone and discovered that it is WAY easier to do these puzzles on a regular computer with a mouse. @ManueB since I think you are using a phone as well, I think you would find it much easier on a computer. Very enjoyable, I really look...

    MJ's little flock

The older hens go to roost around 8:30 pm or so in the summer. The pullets are another matter! I would usually try to get them to go in at 10:30 pm, so I could go to bed too, but it involved bribes, and could be chaotic. There were always one or two stragglers and sometimes one would grab the...

Haha! Yes, we do live in very different climates. I am amazed at the hot temperatures that many of you deal with on a regular basis. Beatrice doesn't mind a little snow:

Yes, it starts to get light around 10:30 am at this time of year, but it is the cold that affects their behaviour the most. On cold days, Cesario sits on the roost and looks out the window, but on milder days like yesterday (-6C) he was out hanging out with the busy pullets. They just go and go!

    MJ's little flock

That was your trickiest puzzle yet! I found it especially challenging because some of the pieces were a very similar colour to the background.

Oh my goodness, Cesario will be thrilled to be featured in your weekly puzzle! 😉

    MJ's little flock

Yes, I like mine a lot, so much so that I have three! The only problem I have found is that I haven't figured out a way to get them to close in the mid-summer when it never gets dark in our sub-arctic location. I trust them the rest of the year, although I still check on everyone every night...

    MJ's little flock

Yes, he is a handsome fellow, but is still trying to win over the older ladies! Thanks for asking about his leg. He is still limping, although not as badly. I am not sure what to do with him. I can't see anything wrong with his leg unless perhaps he sprained something? If only we all had...

Thanks! What is the yellow thing in the sky? Some sort of kite? I can't quite tell on my phone.

Yes, they are a wonderful diversion. I find puzzles relaxing and satisfying, and your wonderful chickens make it even better.

Wow, the broodies at our place are nowhere near so gentle! I am met with screams and flaring neck feathers, and if I get too close, pecks!!

    MJ's little flock

This is so impressive, @LozzyR! I don't know you well obviously, but I admire the way that you are willing to take risks, not just in this martial art, but in your creative endeavours. With risk-taking comes the possibility of failure and many of us have a fear of failure. To see you put...

    MJ's little flock

I found this one a bit trickier than the last one, but it would have been easier if I had the photo to refer to. Not sure how to do that with my phone although I am sure it's possible. I really enjoyed doing the puzzle!

    MJ's little flock

That was fun and a you chose a great photo for the puzzle! I don't really like the idea of a timer while doing a puzzle since I like puzzles to be relaxing and meditative, but I just ignored it!

Yes, I agree! Now that Penny is a mature lady, she restrains herself to two broody periods each summer.

Oh my goodness, that does seem young. I have a feeling this won't be the only Sylvie broody saga! My sweet Penny went broody five times as a pullet.
