I’m so sorry you ended up with just 2! It absolutely is not scummy to ask for more eggs. I certainly would offer to cover shipping if she would reship some eggs since you had a poor hatch rate.
Hopefully the 3 hatch! My experience with malpositions pipping at the wrong end isn't good, but I have had one or two to hatch just fine. Let us know how it goes!
Usually pipping at the end happens in shipped eggs where the egg gets shaken up and damaged but can also happen if you accidentally set eggs in a turning rack with the air cell down. Are they shipped eggs?
