:lau I saw the picture of her and thought, wow, that's a great name for that chick! I need an Ember, I like that name 🤔 then I realized I'd named her 🤣
I definitely ping pong between being disappointed everyone laid to excited everyone laid 🤣 the layers are laying like crazy, so if they have a slack day it's almost a relief. Eggs just aren't selling well so I keep ending up giving them away 🙄 yet feed prices don't match that ☹️
It doesn't...
Hopefully those little buff fluffs get to laying! My silkies took the last 2 weeks to relax apparently, I was getting 5 a day, then just 1 or 2. Yesterday we got 5 again!
Oh my goodness!
No, I haven't culled a pretty one, but I did put a mean pullet in insulation for 3 days because she was terrorizing everyone.
Do you think she's going to go broody and is just having a raging hormone issue?
Ooh, I like him, the baring looks awesome silkied! So... could you breed a chocolate silkie rooster over a cuckoo hen and get barred carrying chocolate males, then breed that over more cuckoo females and get a few chocolate cuckoos in the hatch?
Ok phew, they aren't crosses! I think leakage is fairly common, I don't know how you would breed it out / shut it off though. The cuckoo makes it hard since you'd have to have cuckoo females too.
I think you are safe to stay with your original plan of just keeping a NN if it is a pullet. If...
Wow Debbie, you have a tough challenge here! I'm not a NN admirer but that cuckoo roo is very eye catching. I have to admit your little paint is pretty cute 🤔
I can't speak to the quality of the cuckoo as I really don't know, but he sure is striking 😁
Expansion time! Exciting! Like TwoCrows said, you can never have too many coops 😄 that's great that hubby is on-board and I can totally see the parrots enjoying watching the antics of the chickens 😂
