cage floor mesh size?

I am going to biuld a cage for moving chickens and I want the poop to fall out but not the girls feet. Should I use 1x1 or 1x1 1/2 mesh hole size the 1x1 seems like it would hold the poop and make a messy chicken. the chickens are RIR What would you use? Oh and the floor would be raised up 2 inche for poop room. Thank you.

Can you get a rabbit or dog kennel?

I could get one of those cages but their floor is at poop level. I can biuld one easy enough and have the door where I want it.

I used 1x2" for my transport/broody crates.
Most poops go thru.
