Hi So Cal people. Unfortunately, I have to rehome my chickens. I haven't had them long. My multiple decades with my asthma rarely bothering my has become a daily problem. I read this morning that chickens do not mesh with asthma. I would love to find someone new to chickens that would like to purchase my fairly new chicken coops. One of them was set up 6 months ago and the other about 1.5 months ago. I spent $500 each for 2 coops by "The Chicken Coop Company". I have 7 Chickens, 1 Silver Laced Wyandotte, 1 Americuna and 5 Silkies. One of the Silkies is a Cockeral. The Silkies are 6 Months in a few days and the other 2 are about 9 months. 4 of the seven are laying.

Where in SoCal are you located? Also, do you have any pictures of the coops & chickens?

I am in Huntington Beach. I do have photos. I will add the chickens as soon as I process the photos. Here are the coops. Use your imagination the last photo shows the two doors which I was planning to use to open each door and add a roof to connect the two coops. I wanted to design it so I could still close the doors in case I needed to isolate any of the flock.

Our peach tree is ripe and their little faces are covered with Peach juice! They are all sweethearts! Sunflower seeds are their vice of choice...they come running and some of them prefer to be hand fed and will only eat them off the ground when I am not looking!

Welcome! Silkies are so adorable.

DNA-sexing and Mareks vaccinating day-old chicks would help sell them. Cockerels are frequently given away free as many areas prohibit roo's while many buyers want more guaranteed DNA-sexed females.

From past heartaches as a paying customer I only purchase from NPIP AI-Clean sellers who vaccinate and DNA-sex their Silkies.

These are our newest 3 DNA-sexed Silkies from Buckaboo Farm, Santa Ana. Because we wanted only guaranteed female chicks (so we could have fun raising the babies playing w/them) we placed an order for specific colors and waited 9 months to get these babies.

Some sellers list/ship Silkie hatching eggs only on eBay but don't know how successful that method is. Years ago we purchased a 5-month old female Silkie listed at a local feed store for $10 by a private breeder. This year our 3 recent DNA-sexed vaccinated chicks cost nearly $100 each from a certified seller. Hope some of this info helps you explore selling options. Otherwise as a casual breeder w/no certifications you may wind up just giving Silkies away to neighbors, friends or family.

Breeding and selling winds up more hobby than profit. Post pics of your babies. You may also want to go on the BYC Silkies thread to see if anyone needs chicks.
Thank you for the information. Here are pics if 1 of them. I don't have any pictures of the other ones on this device. I also posted pictures of the parents.

Oooh, perfect, thank you! I will talk to my family and DM you with their response!
