New gamefowl thread

Game chickens are predator savvy, fly faster and farther, are more resistant to disease and live longer. Many of our modern day standard domestic chickens won't even reproduce and seldom go broody.Chicks have to be hatched in incubators or put under a broody hen. This is one of many reasons why a game chickens may be worth more.

Here’s an update picture of the Bruges/AGF Stag

I found some muffled old English game chickens at Sand Hill Preservation I want to buy but they only ship chicks in groups of 25. Unfortunately they limit the order to 5 of this breed

Hello, everyone. I was given a flock of 20+ mixed gamefowl almost 1 1/2 years ago and I'm still having fun trying to figure out what I have. I stumbled across a BYC thread recently that had pictures of a hen that is nearly identical to one of mine, and some were saying she's a Green Leg Hatch. Not that I can know for sure without tracking down and asking the original breeder, but is this a possibility? The attached pictures are of my scrappy little gal.

She could be. If they are mixed than they are mixed. She may have hatch in her though.
I'm sorry. I should have clarified what I meant by "mixed." Supposedly, the original breeder of this particular hen and some of my others bred for the "best lines" (plural), then sold/rehomed his gamefowl to the second owner who free ranged alongside his neighbor's gamefowl. As a result, the stags that were 5-6 months old when I got them are probably from mixed lines. The third owner acquired a second flock of gamefowl from another source, kept them all for a short time, then rehomed the whole shebang to little ol' me. So, I basically ended up with a hodgepodge of gamefowl that includes some that might be pure and others that are probably from mixed lines.
