Welcome to my 2016 project, 100 Pictures of my Flock! Basically, the goal is to take 100 pictures of my flock in the year 2016! But taking 100 pictures would be far to easy--and, indeed, I likely do so every time I go out with my camera to mingle with the flock!--so to make it a little more challenging, each picture must match a theme on a checklist! No pictures are staged, and in fact my goal is to just go out and take pictures of what the girls are doing, and then see afterwards if any of them fit a theme.
This is a project that I started some years ago, back in the summer of 2012. It was inspired by a 100 picture theme project on an art site I was once part of. I figured it would apply just as well to chicken photography as it did to drawn art, and so the project was born! Of course, as with anything, it started out with a few kinks, and I haven't yet finished a checklist. I've taken a couple years off of trying to fill the list after these failed attempts, and now I'm trying again with a new and improved one-word checklist, the thought being that one word can be applied in multiple ways versus a phrase that may be too specific. We'll see how it goes!
As with the previous projects, I welcome anyone that wants to play along to go for it. Just copy the checklist, make any adjustments you feel are necessary to the themes in order to fit your flock (including shortening or lengthening the list!), and start taking pictures! Enjoy!
To keep the page a manageable length, the checklist is hidden in a click-to-view spoiler below. Each theme will have an X next to it once it's completed, and a link to the post on my flock thread where the pictures were originally uploaded. Because there are occasions when I take pictures later on that I think might fit a theme better, I will link posts next to the theme with numbers indicating the order in which the pictures were uploaded.

Just for convenience, all of the checklist pictures will also be added here. If I think any pictures need some context to connect them to the theme, I'll try to explain them briefly beneath. Pictures are also in a click-to-open spoiler to keep the page from getting too long, especially since I often have more than one picture for each theme!

This one has a bit of a story--Elly, here, disappeared into the woods one night. Our woods is loaded with predators, so obviously none of us thought she would make it through. The next morning, content as could be, Elly was waiting outside the chicken yard to be noticed. Long story short, she had an overnight camping trip in the woods--and thank goodness she survived!
