*~*~ New for 2012 ~*~*
Batch #1 for 2012 went into the incubator on 1/13/12 (Friday the 13th!)
The fertility rate is a little disappointing still since it's so early in the season...
Only 21 developing eggs out of a full load. They are due to hatch on 2/8/12.
I started batch #2 on 1/20/2012, so far looks like 26 are developing.
Batch #2 is due to hatch on 2/15/12... waiting waiting waiting, ugh!

UGH!!! I have to confess, I caved in AGAIN!! I pulled all the clears from batch #1 and #2,
and then set batch #3, which is due to hatch on 2/22/12 !!! (I know I know, I'm hopeless!)
LOL hey, setting just 1 batch a week is still using a little self control...right????

Just to show you guys how completely off-my-rocker I really am when it comes to hatching season...
This is what one of the bathrooms in my house looked like for several months last year... lololol!
Hush, you don't even need to say it, cuz someone else probably already has [IMG]https://www.backyardchickens.com/styles/byc-smilies/ep.gif[/IMG] sans ms]!

2012 Hatch Pics... (Here we go again, lol)
I've been slacking on my updates... sorry sorry, been posting on the forum instead of updating here!
I've been hatching weekly, just small batches as my fertility/viability rates aren't all that great yet...
Batch #1 - 12 keets (a Brown keet didn't make it past day 3... so only 11 keets for hatch)
https://www.backyardchickens.com/image/id/6426958/width/600/height/450']
Batch #2 - 23 keets
Batch #3 - 23 keets
Batch #4 - 22 keets
Batch #5 - 16 keets
Batch #6 - 20 keets
Batch #7 - 32 keets
Batch #8 - 19 keets, (20 hatched, but one didn't make it)
Batch #9 - 23 keets
Batch #10 - 22 keets
(Taking keet pics in this bucket sure makes it easier to get a good shot, lol)
Batch #11 1st half - 61 keets!!!
Batch #11 2nd half
Batch #12 early keets
More of Batch #12 - 27 keets total
(I didn't get a pic of all of them, sold part of the batch before I had a chance to take any pics! Oops!)
Batches #13 - 25 keets
Batch #14 - 50 keets (had to take 2 pics!)
Batch #15 - 37 keets total
(I shipped these out as day-olds, so I had to take a quick pic of them before it was too late!)
The stragglers from Batch #15
Plus 3 (Batch #16) that I hatched with my Turkey Eggs
(a couple days later)
Batch #17 - 28 keets
Batch #18 - Just 9 keets, eggs brooded by a Guinea Hen
(but I took them from her to hatch them myself on day 24)
Pics of Batch #19 - 11 keets
(I took these eggs from my Broody Guinea again, and gave her batch #21, lol)
Batch #20 - 9 keets (set just a few with some more Turkey eggs)
Batch #21 - 8 keets. I let my broody Guinea Hen hatch these in an outside nest...
(But took them from her because it was 106°+ outside, WAY too hot for these lil babies!)
Batch #22 - 16 keets
Batch #23- 22 keets
Batch #24- 20 keets
I didn't have time to get any pics of the last 3 hatches, but batches #25, #26 & #27 brought me up to...
keets for the 2012 season! 577
As of Sept, I have stopped setting Guinea eggs for the year, cuz I need a break! (And an omelet!)
I also hatched 5 Turkey Poults, 18 Silkie Chicks, 4 batches of Coturnix Quail & 5 Button Quail this season.
Self-admitted HATCHMANIAC!!!
What a hard habit to break!
