What a beautiful space you’ve built for your flock. I like that you’ve given a realistic time frame for building the coop and run and that you’ve mentioned the possible issues as well as the modifications you made to fit your situation. Well done!
Mia, you are an inspiration! The coop is clearly well-constructed and, well, beautiful! I love the rain chain idea - I have the same problem (worry about losing an eye) with the corners of my metal-roofed coop. The time, care, and investment you have made into this coop will be wonderful for your chickens for years to come!
Wow...awesome coop filled with great ideas. Love the lower hardware cloth windows and the upper dormer style crank windows for ventilation. This article had a funny, clever title, was fun to read, and had great pictures. Thanks for sharing!
Well written, the sort of thing that makes me think maybe I could do something like this. Don't worry, I take a few deep breaths and know better. Nice article.
And I am totally going to steal the phrase "chickens...lawn ornaments, with benefits"
Nice job. Lots of good pictures of the build. I like the intro and reference to the benefits of the Woods style coop. I have an 8x12 Woods and love it. Nice run addition too. The matching roof line is great.
We've been joking that if the whole chicken thing doesn't work out my 26 year old can use it as a tiny house :) Pretty sure he'd get wifi from there LOL
