Have now finished our new chicken run extension. We have had a galvanised tubular steel framed run of 12x14ft for over 4yrs now, and have had an old trampoline frame awaiting a use until recently my daughter bought a new one for my grandkids and I also claimed that.
(Everything galvanised but slightly different diameter poles)
They seemed ideal to be the basis of a run extension but needed to decide how !
Finally settled on linking the 2 together with the straight side netting poles and drilled pilot holes for galvanised self-tapping screws to hold them.
As the pics hopefully show, it was 'simply' cutting through the old chicken wire end wall to pull over the new frame, making the roof wire, which we used a nail-gun loaded with wire staples to secure onto the wooden frame we'd screwed onto the top frame.
Screws, wire staples & chicken wire cost a mere £35, trampoline frames saved from the tip !
Expressions on chickens faces - priceless lol.
