I live in the middle of SC on 12 acres of land that is connected to a 40-acre tract of family land. After moving back to SC from NH my son bought me 12 chickens and a rooster 5 years ago. I still have 1 of those hens that lay almost every day and the rooster. But I have increased the flock and add others over the last 2 years. I love incubating my eggs and have 2 incubators going starting in April and will continue all summer until August this year. My first hatch was very low of only 4 living, we had a power outage that killed over 16 chicks in the egg. My next batch yielded 20 chicks and 2 guineas. Very happy with the outcome.
