Mallard Derived Duck Color Genetics Basics

Thank you for this! I am looking for guidance in the genetics of bill colors (for improving my Welsh Harlequin flock). Have been searching all over for both info and genetic testing, with no results... any resources or guidance would be greatly appreciated!
A very clear straight forward explanation about the colour genetics in mallard derived Ducks. So very helpful with Australian call Ducks.
Much appreciated.
I have a good amount of experience with rabbit coat color genetics and have been trying to learn Call Duck color genetics. This article explains it very well.

Who knew that the color genetics of ducks is so complicated! Excellent explanations and examples for a really complex and hard to memorize topic.

I am truly impressed. Well presented and illustrated with pictures.
I don't know a thing about colour genetics and I don't really care what comes out of an egg.
I still found this article interesting. I've read a few 'how to' guides on genetics for chickens just out of curiosity. I'm often asleep at the end of the first paragraph.
I made it all the way to the end of this and enjoyed reading it. Great article.
So easy to read and helpful in understanding Duck Color genetics.
Thank you!

This is a great article for demystifying the genetic code of ducks. The only suggestion I would make is , under the "Putting it All Together" heading, putting the individual allele codes in after each phrase in the description would help novices (like myself!) to sort things out. Just the first couple, then make us work for it!
With an article like this one, I just may end up understanding genetics, eventually!
