Welcome to the Second Annual Secret Summer Event! 
Last year was our first year doing this, and it was super fun! Then we did a similar event during the wintertime called the Secret Santa, and even more people showed up!
To make a long explanation short, this is like an art trade—you make a piece of art for someone, and a different person makes a piece of art for you!
This is just a little art exchange thing I find really fun, and the reason I’m posting this thread for it so early in summer is to make time for the lovely artists!
Sometimes it takes us quite some time to start, finish, or even get motivated to make a drawing—and that’s totally fine! But I want to account for that time, so here we are!
But anyway! The point of this thread is to find everyone who wants to take part in this little event! Just tag me in this thread, or in a pm telling me you’d like to join, and I’ll add you to the Secret Summer pm where we’ll all discuss details and share references!

This is just so that each person can receive a piece of art of the same quality in which they give.
So between the first two groups, you get to decide where you go: between the OC group or the Photography group.
- The OC Group are people who will be providing their own Original Characters (OCs) for people to draw. This can be a huge range of either humans, mythical creatures/beings, or animals.
- The Photography Group are people who will be providing photos of their animals or pets, or perhaps themselves to draw in the case that they don’t have OCs.
So without further ado:Here’s How to Take Part:
1.) If you would like to join, tag me in this thread, in @lilmillefleur ‘s art thread, or add me to a pm asking to join, and I’ll add you to the Secret Summer pm.
• Please tag me with the @ when requesting to join, otherwise I may not see your request right away!
• As well as tagging me, please provide 2-3 references of some of your best drawings here in the thread so I can assess your current art skill level! This can be any drawings you are proud of.
• You have two weeks to request to join: from today, April 16th, to April 30th. Then after the 30th we’ll begin!
2.) Vote in the poll for which group you would like to be a part of. There are separate pms for each.
• The OC Group will be providing their original characters for others to draw, and the Photography Group will be providing photos of their animals, or themselves for people to draw.
• You CAN join both groups, but then you will be drawing for TWO people, and it isn’t recommended if you have a tight schedule.
• Do not worry about the differences between the advanced and beginner artists, I will have a personal list of people’s skill level behind the scenes and will provide options of people you can draw for based on your level.
3.) Once you’re in your respective pm(s), post 1-2 drawing/photo reference(s) for people to look at and provide a short description. I’ll make a separate locked pm and quote the reference posts in it so everyone can view them.
4.) I will spin a wheel behind the scenes, and whoever gets picked, gets to choose whom they would like to draw for! I will provide a list for you in a private pm based on the people within your experience level.
• Please note that if the wheel picks you last or near last, your options will be limited, so try to be flexible!
• You can do one drawing, or more! Any extra drawings you decide to make don’t have to be for your Secret Summer, but your main project will be for whom you picked.
5.) As soon as your Secret Summer is selected, you can begin drawing! I will announce along the way when everyone has picked a person, and update how many people remain to finish their drawing. The person you choose doesn’t know that you’ve picked them, so keep it a secret from everybody except me!
• I do not have to see your drawing (that is optional), but I can offer advice and ask questions about your Secret Summer’s OC/photo for you.
• Please don’t forget to inform me when your main drawing is completed so I know when everyone is ready!
6.) Once everyone is done with their art, we will do a big reveal in the Secret Summer pm, where you can announce who your secret person was and gift them the art you made! After that, feel free to post your art here in this thread or in @lilmillefleur ‘s art thread to show off what you accomplished together!
Everyone needs to try and complete their Secret Summer’s drawing before July 30th.
If work and time restraints keep you from finishing before then, that’s alright! As long as it gets finished in the end, you’re all good. We will reveal without you, but look forward to your finished piece.

Other Rules/Notes:
• If you have participated in past events, it’s alright to reuse the same OCs or photos that you have previously used.
• Upon joining your pm, you can request to join a separate chat pm. Chatter and off-topic posts clutter up the main pms, and so if you just want to just talk, request to join the chatter pm!
- You will not be added without request.
- Please keep all chatter PG, some people are not comfortable with certain subjects and word usage, so keep that in mind!
• If you have participated in past events, try to pick a different person to draw for than you did last year!
