I'm new to chickens and I was wondering if some of the more experienced members could suggest what they would put in a chicken first aid kit. Recently I had to use blood stop powder for a chicken of mine that was attacked buy a dog and before that I had to use Tylan for an upper respiratory infection. Tylan isn't available locally and I had to order it online. Took a few days to get here.
Maybe you can also let us know the sources for supplies like needleless syringes for giving liquids and flushing out wounds. Maybe even sutures for us that might need them (hope not) because there aren't many vets that see chickens.
In my first aid kit right now I have
Blood stop powder
Tylan
Betadine- Really had to hunt for this. The pharmacy keeps it behind the counter
clean cloths
gauze
and neosporin without pain killer.
Everything is in a plastic box I purchased at the 'Everything is under $5.00' store
I think a lot of Newbies would benefit from this also.
Sorry moderator if this is under the wrong forum
