When you're in church and look down at your boot and see chicken poop smeared all up your heel....then rummage through your purse to find something to get it off with...and hope no one is watching. :fl
We love to give ours frozen corn, green beans and peas in the summer. They make great treats for them in the heat. Also watermelon and cantaloupe and/or the rinds, as well as cucumbers and tomatoes. They attack those as soon as I throw them out and they keep the kids well hydrated in the summer...
We originally got them for eggs, but quickly found that they are so much fun to watch. Nothing better than watching "chicken television":pop to de-stress after a long day. They are all such a joy.

This is something I never would have thought of before. I have long hair, and we have 2 horses. Our chickens spend a lot of out in the pasture with our horses too. I'm glad to be made aware of this, thank you for sharing the info!!
We had a problem with lice, and unfortunately it killed one of our hens before we really knew what was wrong. Our cousin had told us about (food grade) Diatomaceous Earth and how much it had helped her chickens and with keeping her coop pest free. We bought a bag and it was one of the best...
