We have a bit larger flock (5) but we started much the same base camp and then I bought a 6' roll of 2x4 welded fencing and some light duty fence stakes and made a daytime extended run with netting over it, doubled their area and they love it! Evening time into the secured run and hut. literally...

We have a RLW hen who is the "bitch of the bunch". She is a fluffy butt gal a bit heavier than the others. We at times will pull er for a bit of spa treatment. Epsom soak on clean the back side. We'll as we were drying her and turned she freaked per say got a bit loose and wifey helped contain...

Main feed is 18%-layer pellets and I have oyster shell and lots of crushed egg shells. We offer BSFL lil scratch and some high end natural feed on the side.... oh and some greek/plain yogurt in the AM.

I have a SLW that has been having egg issues from minimal production to soft eggs or super thin, rough shells. She is active eating drinking plenty of calcium available in varied forms. I ordered some nutridrench and curious if any others find this beneficial to their flock?

My 13-mo. old SLW has been for a couple weeks laying a soft shelled egg off/on. Almost always first thing in the AM on the run floor. She eats well drinks runs around pecking away. I had all five lay yesterday, and hers has a bit of surface bumps on the end which we see on occasion... and then...

My 13mos old Wyandotte for the last couple weeks has been having a soft egg just a thin membrane and this AM makes 2 in a row. we have their layer crumble and oyster and egg shells available. No one else has this issue(flock of five) any advice on how to get her more calcium, I assume?

We generally just stack the eggs into the jar and when full we fill with the premix lime water solution to cover the eggs and screw the lid on.
