That’s smart, and we should have extra pieces from building, I’ll definitely try it!

What to do about gaps in coop

I wasn’t sure how to work the situation so the title may not be accurate, but we’re building a chicken coop for the deep litter bedding method, and lined the coop with plastic. To make the plastic fit and the walls smooth we used plywood to cover the studs but it made gaps between the plywood...

Some of my chickens were laying on the ground, is this bad

The internal injuries on my rooster were caused by dogs, the coop door was blown open I had five birds eaten and he had injuries from the attack that he didn’t recover from. I don’t think my yen has these because I checked everybody very thoroughly after my rooster died because I had originally...

Some of my chickens were laying on the ground, is this bad

I went to check on my birds before going to bed and three of my hens were sitting on the ground instead of on the roosts which worries me because last time this happened my rooster died from internal injuries and I figure the hens somehow knew and were sitting with him or were just keeping him...

My chickens seem to have white stuff on their combs, I saw it on one so I checked them all and it was on all of them. I got the best pictures I could. My hens don’t seem to be acting weird but is this something I need to treat? My flock did have scales leg mites recently if that’s related, and...

    Do I need heat lamps?

They are out of the wind, the ventilation isn’t awesome but it’s there. I have some older picture but the coop hasn’t changed much since then. I was hoping we’d get their new coop done before this storm but it didn’t happen. Definetley enlightened on how to keep the frost bite away now!

    Do I need heat lamps?

These are all adult birds, I moved from Colorado so it was cold but we had an insulated with heat sources so they were a bit spoiled. I’m mostly worried because it’s been a hotter than normal summer.

    Do I need heat lamps?

I live in Oklahoma and it’s going to be -10 F this weekend and generally below freezing for a while so I was wondering if I need heat lamps. We moved here recently so they’re in a coop that was already here and it’s basically just a shed so I’m not confident it’s going to hold heat itself. I do...
