If they’re only separated by chicken wire and this have been see but not touch I would assume it would be fairly easy to integrate. Also realize they will go through establishing a new pecking order amongst themselves.
Separate houses/enclosures. Our #s are way off. So we have 2 houses. 1 with male/female pair and the other with 2 males. It works well for the most part but it isn’t perfect.
Chicken wire on the bottom will eventually rust and busy especially with moving. Do you need a floor? Not necessarily. But you’ll want some sort of predator apron-wire mesh that can lay flat around the outside to prevent digging underneath.
I had 1 hen and 1 roo together because my roos had to be separate (and to is too was a klutz/terrible at mating) and the hen had been injured and wasn’t easily welcomed back. They did fine. And everyone could see one another.
We had 2 silkie roosters (sadly, 1 passed away a few months ago). They did fight with one another and we had to separate them. The one that passed away we almost got rid of before he was starting to attack, once I trimmed his head fluff he stopped. I think in his case it was because he couldn’t...
I was getting male vibes too (from legs, lack of tail feathers) which is why I wondered if the breed was wrong. Since it was purchased as a pullet my daughter will be devastated (as it’s her favorite).
We already have 1 roo (amost 2 year old silkie). Our other roo passed away a few months ago...
I know I know another possible TSC surprise. I’m not new to chicks but I am new to BSL. This was purchased as a BSL Pullet on March 5 (so almost 5 weeks old now). Im including pics when I first brought it home as well as now. Is this normal coloring for a BSL?
(Other chicks are Leghorn Pullet...
When my daughter brought in eggs tonight this was with it. At first it looked like a piece of poop. It was about the size of a yolk. It wasn’t really layered like I’d expect a lash egg but I have no idea what else it could be. Not sure which hen laid it either.

When I got my Americana/Easter Eggers from TSC 2 years ago, I had 1 out of my trio that was consistently smaller (like half the size of the others). She eventually great full size and caught up. She was eating/drinking/behaving fine.
My numbers were not as good as yours. I had 3 hens and 3 pullets when we brought our silkie chicks home. They both ended up being boys. They all did really well for a while. By the boys continued to fight. I moved one into an enclosed garden area (and eventually a hen in with him after the...
