Will Cayenne pepper in my yard hurt my laying hens?

Digging up old post here. ? Going to mix cayenne pepper in a sprayer to deter squirrels in coop. Will the residue hurt the bottom of hens feet. Wouldn't want that to happen.

Pullets eating maggots from fly trap bag. Is this ok?

We use those also. The Stench is terrible. The bait your adding abit of water too is nothing more than rotten eggs. So harmless. But they work great!

Topic of the Week - What do you do with all those eggs?

Mix up about a dozen put them in empty Gatorade bottles freeze them. Works great. Also make train wreck, scrambled eggs, sausage or chorizo and fried taters and onions. Also freeze very well in ziplock snack bags. Perfect serving size. Great burritos. Take them on the road with me. And give away...

    Raccoons won't leave

I have the same situation. Yes you might get a few but eventually I've found that you will thin them out quite a bit. I've had feral cats, racoons, opposums even had otters take ducks on the water. The only predator that I've not been able to deal with is horned owls.

Poll: How was your coop built?

Scratch! Just went went with 8×12. 8 ft high. 6.2 doors, tired of scratching my head. 6 extended nesting boxes, maximizing interior room. 3 6ft perches,2×4 and must have poop boxes under. Be there 1st nite in. Hope they like it. Still have to remove old coop and cover remaining top.
