It's true. With chickens, often times tragedy will strike. But also miracles can happen. Know that it's not your fault, and there's really no more you could do other than continue to care for and keep your flock healthy.
I have a bantam who's always been much tinier than my other banties and on the weaker side in terms of balance. She's been laying for a few months now and her eggs are very small and she has difficulty laying them. I know she's still just starting her laying, but twice now she grew suddenly...
My runs are pretty much just dry dirt. My flock can bathe and scratch to their hearts' delight.
As for babies, since I raise them indoors, I take them out on daily field trips to my succulent garden (if the weather is fair and after newly hatched ones have had a few days to acclimate to the...
Yeah, I had a hen that was limping one day and perfectly fine the next. Scrambled eggs are always a good idea. You can mix and add herbs in with them too.

She's around two years old, and hasn't laid for months. I'd been giving her daily calcium citrate+D3 but that didn't seem to help. She is now acting slow and lethargic and won't even eat scrambled...
My luck as well, I got a batch of chicks once and the friendliest one in the bunch (would fly onto your lap, snuggle into your hand, etc.) turned out to be a roo. 🤣
I already had a rooster so I had to rehome; still loved that boy to pieces though.
How many eggs do you get a day from them? Are...
:lau So relatable!!!
They are too precious!!! Thanks for the baby chick fix!
Those are all great breeds, all lay lots of eggs. Orpingtons are a favorite of mine!
Are these your first or new additions to your existing flock?
