    Scaly head - is this a concern?

    One of our Ameracauna hens seems to have a scaly area above her beak. She’s about a year old, regularly laying, and doesn’t seem to have lost weight. I’ve been away on a trip for a few days and my partner noticed her trying to sleep in the nesting box, instead of on the roost with the others...

    How much did it cost for you to build your own coop?

    hello from Houston!

    I will! That's my #1 concern in building a very sturdy coop. Am planning to use some heavy duty galvanized steel to reinforce, Nite Guards, and sturdy locks. They are so wicked smart!

    hello from Houston!

    Hello all! Just started with 3 Cochins in south Houston - only 6 weeks old. Very excited to raise them, and nervous too. Live right by the bayou with lots of coons and predators. Planning a sturdy coop and hoping for the best. Love all the pictures!
