I bought a shade sail from Costco a few years ago. Can I use that to prevent wind blowing on the chickens? Or will it allow wind to still ruffle their feathers at night? This crazy weather is not something I've dealt with before. Thanks for any help.

i don't know which photo is 4th picture down for you. For me, there isn't a 4th picture down. None of them are squatting as far as egg laying because they are too young. It might just be the angle.

I don't see where it says it can be sprouted. I sprout wheat and they love it, but I also feed fermented feed. I've never tried to just feed sprouted seeds. I tried growing longer than just sprouting the seed, but always ran into problems with mold sooner or later. I don't know if just sprouting...

It is great to hear of hens living so long. However, does anyone know what the average is? My first flock is just about 4 1/2 years old. I have about 63% (7 out of 11 hens) left from that flock. How do I know if that is good? Maybe I need to change something to get a better survival percentage...

Mine only eat fermented feed, so they have no other option. They have never seemed to not want to eat it, but they do eat variable amounts each day. Are you feeding them something else along with the fermented feed? Did you start a new bag of feed? Could there be something wrong with it?
