Sorry, I should have clarified. I was asking because of our cockerel not yet a year old. He'll be a year old in late summer.
I've been told it's not good to incubate eggs fertilized by a young cockerel.
Our 2yr old Serama hen just recently started laying again and while I believe our Porcelain d'Uccle cockerel is breeding her, I want to wait long enough to ensure the eggs I incubate are good.
Any I hatch will be kept aside from any cockerels that hatch, they will be dropped off at the auction...
The new pullets decided that sleeping on the feeder was acceptable 🤪

I did in fact find a hole underneath the coop floor, which is just the dirt ground with hardware cloth covering overhead.
And I know many may end up getting upset but I poured a bunch of water into the opening of the hole to flush it back where it leads.
The floor had 2 layers of the 1/4" sized...
