7 week bantam black Wyandotte. Gender?

Agree, looks like a pullet. The cockerels combs get very red and the wattles start coming out even when that age.

    OLDER HENS ATTACK NEW ROOSTER

I think your coop is very small for the amount of chickens you have. If you can expand the width of things, I think they will work things out in time. I have 11 established hens and brought in 4 newbies. I kept them apart but a fence between so they could get used to each other. It takes time...

    Rooster Attacks Only Legs?

I have heard from some people who have a lot of roosters, that your clothing can effect some of them. They can be afraid of some shoes and or pants. When they changed their pants the rooster was fine. Her previous pair was loose and floppy, so she changed to tighter ones. I would give it a try...

Questions on Broody if the chicks hatch

This is the first time I am letting this hen sit. She got broody same time last year and I spent time breaking her. I'm just to busy this year. I got a couple of eggs from my neighbors hens who stay with the rooster. If these hatch, do I need to keep chick feed in a separate place for the...

What type of Wyandottes are these?

First one looks like golden or black laced red, the other two do not look like Wyandottes to me. I never had any patterned that way at all. My silver laced was different, but those have so much black on them. May I ask where you got them? Tractor supply is notorious for making mistakes.

Wyandotte chicks what gender are they?

Too young to tell for sure. #2 has a redder comb then the rest, so possible cockerel. I added 4 Wyandottes to my group this year, 3 pullets and I ordered a cockerel. He is very obviously male. He was marked, so no guessing. But now so much easier for me to see the differences if I had not know...

    Early chick integration

IMO they are to young to remove all heat. I would have left the plate in their brooder so they can get under it when needed. When you see them using it less and less, you know they are comfortable. Heat lamps in small spaces tend to force them to be under it even if they don't need or want it...

How To euthanize a chicken humanely

Thank you for teaching this. This is always a concern of mine. I don't think I could actually unless my chicken was suffering terribly. I appreciate knowing this if I ever have to.

    Rehome One Rooster or Two?

If you don't ask any questions, you may get some results that would be hard to live with. I recently re-homed a rooster. One man wanted him, I asked if he had a flock for with? never answered me. I asked various ways, didn't answer. It really bothered me. This rooster was a good boy and most of...
