That is all great information. Thank you!! I will raise the feeder. I don't think the coop really invites them to enter for several reasons--mostly being that it is outside of our fenced in yard. They just seem to want to be inside the fence but, I'm hoping it's because they're still young. We...
For the last couple of days I've left feed in their coop during the day but, I've encountered a couple issues:
1. They don't go back to their coop unless I herd them there.
2. There is a lot of food on the ground of their coop they're not eating.
3. I've found lady cardinals in there almost...

Hahah. Ours were also on a lawn chair today. I wish I had taken a picture! I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one and I hope they'll get more independent as they age. Although, it is super sweet that they feel safe near us :) <3
That sounds more promising! I am heartened. They are young and this is the first summer they've been alive. They also have only been roaming for a little under a month. All I need is patience, perhaps?
Thanks so much for your response, guineapeeps. They do make those alarm calls occasionally but mostly they are quiet. There is one girl that "buckwheats" constantly and that lets me know where they are... Is it possible that I fed them too much initially and they are begging? They should be able...
Hi all,
I'm a brand new guinea owner. I've had mine since May. They have been really great and easy but in the last couple of weeks they've been super codependent! They are free-range during the day and they had been staying relatively close to the coop and entertaining themselves. However, in...
