    20+ Silkies New Coop Recommendations

But with lower roosts & nests for Silkies how do people accommodate all that lower to the ground? Everything I see on roosts & nests is all geared towards flying/higher chickens, not silkies.

    20+ Silkies New Coop Recommendations

We currently have 21 silkies. They’re a great bunch! 🥰 I’d love to hear everyone’s ideas about their coop and run. We’re building and would like to give them an awesome space. Just need ideas on size. ESPECIALLY the fact that their roosts & boxes need to be low. TIA

    Starting Fresh Yard/Garden/Chickens/Dogs

We’re building a new house and I’m trying to figure out how to arrange the yard, garden, chicken coop and run and dog run. Our dog needs to be separate from the chickens and will have a doggie door that goes into the house/garage. His space inside the yard also needs to be able to be separated...

Multiple ages with large & small coop. TN

I think I’m too much of a soft hearted person for chickens. Today we found our sweet Queenie dead. She was in the maternity ward with her sister and two chicks. Her sister got out and there are feathers everywhere. Idk what happened. But we have lost some to a fox, some to a hawk and now this...

Late hatch = odd chick out

It’s ok. He’s got two little siblings down there that I could go ahead and bring up so he’s not alone but I’m hesitant to take them from the first time Moms. They both got a little worked up when we tried to introduce him and it definitely seemed like they were protecting their babies so I’d...

Late hatch = odd chick out

Two bantam sisters have been sharing a clutch. Now they have two babies a few days old and abandoned the rest of the eggs. Took this eggs to the incubator and now we have one chick so far. Tried to introduce it to the hens and idk maybe because the chick is a completely diff color from the other...

    Mixing Big girls & Bantams???

Another reason I asked this question is because on of the Roos has really started getting on one the ladies kinda aggressively. He hasn’t hurt her but I was thinking maybe the big girls would teach him some manners. ???

    Mixing Big girls & Bantams???

We don’t need them to sleep in the same coop but I think the big girls would like to be back in their coop. They’ve been sleeping in an attached area in dog houses and make shift beds since the littles have come out so the littles could get used to the coop. One or two of the little girls has...

    Mixing Big girls & Bantams???

We adopted our first chickens 9 beautiful big girls last summer. they’re all about 2-3 yrs old. This March we got 6 bantam chicks. 2 of them are Roos. We’ve had them separated this whole time but for the last about 2-3 months they free run together but are still sleeping separate. They seem to...

    Rocky Roo who???

So.... chilling with the littles today and our “girl” Pearl made a noise. You know, kinda like a ROOSTER! 🤦🏼‍♀️ What am I gonna do with two roosters? We have 5 big grown girls and 6 little new kids. Hopefully if we’ve got two Roos they’ll divide the girls between them and all will be peaceful. ☮️ 😆

    Rocky Roo who???

This is Rocky. Any idea what breed he is? He has blue/green luster on his black tail feathers. He’s definitely a rooster.
