I pierced it with the needle. Lots of air came out and it seemed to relive him for awhile, but it has filled up again.

I am leaning more toward the emphysema.....he doesn't seem as sick as I would expect from the description of swollen head and isn't in a high risk category for it. It just looks miserable right now.
