a dislocated leg on a chicken often looks like they are holding it up or dragging it.they might fly and bounce off that leg to get around. does she walk normally?
so I have a 3 year old silver laced wyandotte who suddenly developed a prolapsed anus. she was fine the day before but today she had really drooping feathers and wasn't very vocal. a lot of poop was stuck on the feathers and prolapsed part. I googled up some stuff that would help and soaked her...
could be a broken or dislocated leg. have you tried feeling for anything loose or broken?
edit: check the bottom of her foot for a black scab.it just might be bumblefoot
this happens with some roosters.are they just jumping up with their feathers out and not lunging at each other.roosters sometimes do that ( I had 7 of them once:barnie)
oh my goodness I love buff brahmas! got three of them myself and I adore them.they also come up to check me out and even follow me when I refill their water and food
I have a hen (3 years of age) that has suddenly started to start gaping and wheezing.i have tried vetrx (gonna switch that since it didn't help) and her tongue seems discolored and her breath sure does stink. I'm sure it isn't her crop since it empties and is full at night and she hasn't lost...
shes got some sour crop right there.caused by an infection. does her crop feel empty in the morning? if not try giving her a teaspoon of apple cider vinegar and some warm water a couple of hours later
that's a raccon alright. they don't prefer the rest of the body and they go for the head. had two encounters with them.one where a dead hen my sibling buried was dug up and decapitated and another where a raccoon planned on stealing my hen and tried to rip her head off.
