Hi I am from Ireland too ,I have 28 hens and 38 call ducks ,I also started with 6 but chicken math took hold where abouts in Ireland are you?- sandracollins

you will see the yolk still attached it is a little sac, you need to get them out if they are on day 28 once you get their heads out just leave them they will kick the shell off themselves.They can take a while to dry off and start to move around,Pick the shell off now to half way down and they...- sandracollins

Pick off the shell to about half way down the shell be careful just a bit at a time ,when you get that off peel the membrane back slowly kind of roll it down over the duckling if there is any fresh blood stop,the one at the back seems to have some blood on it how long ago was that picture ? when...- sandracollins

peel back a bit of the membrane if it bleeds stop leave it for a few hours then try again go to sundown silkies page and follow her instructions I have hatched 27 call ducklings and i followed her instructions- sandracollins

So sorry you lost him but it was probably for the best we had Flip for 10 days and I cried the day I had to get the vet to put him to sleep :hugs- sandracollins

I hatched a call duck like this a while ago it couldn't walk just rolled if you held your hands around and balanced it he would walk,I gave him nician vitamin drops for a week but he didn't improve ,he grew the same as the others and it broke my heart to watch . help I think duck ate fertiliser and seems sick
I brought her into the house for a while and have her some yougart with some Epsom salts in it to flush her through and she seems a lot better tonight , will keep you posted thanks for your help- sandracollins

no vets available here its bank holiday trying to get her to eat yougart and drink water but she just wants to go back with the rest but when she was with them she was standing with her eyes closed not at all like her anyone know what would dilute the poison its slow release fertiliser- sandracollins
