Yes thanks, she is very small (150/200g) I have been giving her a 1/4 tablet of B complex for 4 days now with no improvement. When should I expect to see some improvement do you think?
Her normal feed has Vitamins A,B,D,E and K along with calcium and other essential minerals.
Ok I will try vitamin D also. I wasn't aware people took them out of the brooder for visits outside until after 6 weeks. They were also Infront of a window, not in a dark room or shed or anything.
Yeah my feed bag is fine.
She is also now also occasionally breathing with her beak open.
I'm more than happy to keep looking after her as I am, I just don't want to put her though this if the medicine isn't going to help.
Her toes aren't curled under. Yesterday she was walking without standing up straight and would take a few steps forward then fall backwards. Now one leg won't bend at all today.
She doesn't scream or flap around when she is picked up or held.
Do you think the human B complex would do any harm...
Thanks! I'm not in America but I can certainly get B complex. I was concerned as the internet said it needed to be specific for poultry 🤷
Yeah she has grit in her normal crumble. I only gave her a small amount of corn/egg (about a tea spoon).
It's possible she could have been hurt. I wasn't...
This is my beautiful 7 week old Pekin. About 4 days ago she started falling to her side and kicking her legs around not able to get up. They were all still in the brooder box (it's very large) I immediately seperated her from the others. She was falling to the side occasionally but could still...
I can't unfortunately as one side of the fence is a colourbond fence and the other side is the wall of my house. There would be no way to get the electric fence all the way around 😔
I will connect the netting tightly to the top of the fencing and hopefully that will be enough to deter them from...
Domestic cats and foxes are the predators in my area in Australia. I have a coup that will be very secure and safe from them but the run is more of an issue. They will be locked in at night but free range in the run during the day.
I would rather not have a roof, Does it need a roof if the...
Thanks for your reply. I have seperated all three of the new chicks together now. I am absolutely kicking myself for not quarantining them 😞
She has stopped gasping but still has rapping breathing and now sneezing. I have noticed today that some of my tiny chicks are now gasping, sneezing and...
I have 10 chicks hatched from my own incubator one week ago. I didn't hatch as many as I would have liked so today I purchased 3 two week old chicks from a breeder.
I put them all straight in together and they went really well. I noticed that one of the new chicks was breathing very fast so...
Thanks for your responce. Im waiting for hubby to get home to help me clip her and do a better examination, then i will try and get a photo. I have attatched a few picks of her poop and that shell thing she pushed out thismorning. She is eating a small ammount of yoghurt but thats all. Her bum...
Great thanks so much for the info! I have a night of reading ahead!....she is drinking the ACV water and eating the yoghurt!! So its a win anyway because she is finally having something :)
Thanks! I have given her some calcium and vitamib D3 in her water. What kind of electrolytes could i use.
For supportive care, does she need a roost or will she be ok just on hay? I can fit a tiny bar in the cage if she needs it. But wont bother if she doesn't.
Thanks for your advice
