Dr. Tom Whiting, a poultry geneticist specializing in developing feathers for the fly-fishing industry, developed the Whiting True Green. The Whiting True Green is a hybrid breed that lays a large light green egg. Anyone looking for a bird with that can produce huge numbers of eggs and in an incredible color will be adding these to their wish list. Hens are reddish to chestnut colored and on the light side. Averaging around 3.5 lbs these birds have an astounding feed to egg conversion.

What breeds were used in their development, and do they breed true. I note different colored chicks. Are they able to be sexed by chick color ?

I heard, though I'm trying to verify as you are, that they do not breed true yet

I wanna see pictures of the rooster vs hen in the whiting true green. Are they just very similar like a Rhode Island Red?
I have Bielefelder’s. Easy to tell which is hen and which is rooster. I don’t know about the Whitings.

You can't call a hybrid that doesn't breed true a breed. That's the thing about a breed, they breed true, and hybrids are the result of two actual breeds. So there is no such thing as a "hybrid breed", they are just hybrids.
