Curly
And her wee chicks
The light one is a lavender Orpington and the dark one is a Midnight Majesty Marans - she has fuzzy legs 😊
I was super happy to see both of them have a good long drink before lights out and the Orp has a full crop. I dumped a bunch of feed in front of Curly so the...
It is from a blue egg layer, and if it has fuzzy legs and dark skin it would be a Bert baby.
So far 4 blue eggs hatched the fifth pipped, and two off the silkie eggs pipped. Hopefully all the silkies will be pipped and hatched by morning. And the fifth blue egg should be hatched.
Yes I have those, and yes you can use those at shows in specific classes, and age groups - at least here in Canada.
I take it the ‘leather’ that broke was the loop holding that elastic in place? You can buy those easy.

Trot on Marty!
Good
Having a good healthy fear of riding will help make you aware and take care.
Riding is also about taking risks - if you don’t ride you don’t fall off. I have had some horrible falls, whiplash about 6 times, I am one huge aching body now a days.
Do I get fearful? Absolutely, I don’t...
He just yelled at you because he was worried.
When you get home take a photo of your breakaway stirrups and I will tell you how they work. There are different kinds. I have two types - one has the outside metal missing and that space is filled by an elastic strap that pops off if your foot...
Yep sad but true fact, they build roadways as a way of future planning for growth. Easier to build the road and underground infrastructure before putting in housing and industry.
Sad
Happy tax

And look at the size difference between those bantam chicks and the older ones 😊
Hahaha
Just go get it! That’s what I do, can’t say much once it’s there 😊♥️
I bought my first horse when I was 17, and my dad was furious, of course he was the first person out to see her next morning 😆
After that over the years it was always ‘NOT ANOTHER G-DARN HORSE, WHAT DID I SAY ABOUT...
Ok update!
Seems those silkies are gonna give me stress - two have pipped finally.
Gosh I am just a wreck now after last night. I got complacent and I was stupid thinking everything would go great. It’s a hard reality check, esp with Larry having to be put down last week.
Just as stressful...
I wouldn’t give her any more than 4 eggs she is small like Henny and 4 was her limit.
Mark the eggs you get, 1, 2, 3, 4. Then shove them under her.
Count 19 days (usual for small eggs), and taadaa! Eggs hatch.
What breed of eggs are you giving her? Do you have a plan for the Roos that will...
Generally we have to get the horse inside a stall or very small pen, tranquilize it and cut the halter off. Then keep it in the pen/stall until it heals up. Not fun. And very dangerous!
Tax on horses
This photo makes me laugh with the three big chicks circling the tiny one 😊
Silkie people (do we have only here on FBA?)
The silkie eggs I have my niece are at 20 days now.
3 of the 5 blue eggs have hatched and the remaining 2 have pipped.
So far none of the silkie eggs have pipped - ?
I have asked my niece to candle them tonight after school. What do you all think??
You did great in that case! Good job! I would also have been freaked out.
I have seen horses with halters embedded in their heads from owners putting a halter on a young horse and then not removing the halter as they grew. Those owners get some very strong words from me. Can you imagine trying...
Oh yuck hahaha - he must have been a lovely mess!
lessons learned - sometimes they are hard ones to learn. Just glad you got them off in time ♥️ I do love a nice Barred Rock 🥰
