My 2 month old silkie has vomited a clear liquid from its mouth. From a quick google search, I am now aware this can be sour crop. The silkie acts normal but has vomited 3 or 2 times since the past 3 weeks and sometimes bobs it back and forth with its mouth open, based on the reaction, trying to...
I have everything other than the formula and am prepared and like I said the parents aren't broody nothing I can do. He said the 2 females lay a batch twice a year and he just throws them away one batch during April and am assuming the other in July (he waits a good while before throwing them...
Fine with that I have plenty of free time but I personally think the cockatiel will be more tamed with being hand raised. Though like I said no professional. Plus, it's either I hand raise a batch and get to keep one or my neighbor throws away the eggs.
But it's still far, far, away in the...
No, he has multiple cockatiels and his broody one passed away a couple years ago and just receives fertilized eggs and has just threw them away. So when he heard I had an incubator he said when he gets more cockatiel eggs he'll give them to me. So I mistakenly thought I would recieve them soon...
I have a blue or black giant jersey and would like to see if you guys can guess her gender. She/He is around 5 weeks. It was supposed to blue but could have been a mix up not sure. @MysteryChicken
Here is a picture. I always get my chicks from a local feed store which always seems to impress me with the breeds and the quality. But this time I think they gave me a black giant jersey as they came in the same batch as the blues.
I don't know what on earth is the age progression of a blue giant jersey and am concerned that mine is a black giant jersey just with poor quality as it has a couple of white feathers on the wings. Will it molt later on and take on its beautiful colors? I will post pictures soon.
I also agree you should wait. It doesn't hurt and shipped eggs don't always prove to have the best hatch rate. I personally, when manually turning eggs, turn them 5 times a day.
