She grew fast and is gigantic compared to the other girls. She is very calm and docile. She is in the upper half of the pecking order, but I've never really seen her assert herself. She just is. She took forEver to feather in. I will definitely have a BLR in my flock all the time, so beautiful.
had to share a photo of my 20 week old beauty queen. I am so excited that her feathering turned out exactly the shade I'd hoped for! Clover is my Blue Laced Red Wyandotte.
Im not able to get onto the buy-sell-trade forum on my phone.....so hopefully you won't mind me posting here. I'm in the western Chicago burbs and i have 2 young roosters that need me homes as we can't have them in my town. I have a 14 week old BBS Ameraucana and a 9 week old BBS/Iowa Blue mix...
I heard the dreaded "er-ah-er-ah-roo" this morning. Either my Easter egger or ameraucana is the culprit. There goes my colorful egg basket. :hit
Does anyone in northern Illinois have a 2-4 month old EE pullet or Ameraucana pullet they are willing to sell. The rest of my chicks are almost 14...
I'm just curious.....has anyone in northern Illinois raised Polish hens? I think they are so cute but didn't order any because they never came up as a cold hardy breed. Anybody have success with them around here?
So, I'm not trying to be rude, these chickens make me laugh. All I can think about when I see them are the witches guards in The Wizard of Oz...ooo wee o..o wee ooo :lau
My girls moved out in two batches, they loving being outside pecking the earth during the brief glimpses of sunshine amidst the never ending freakin rain we have had ALL summer.!!
My little Easter egger is about 4 weeks old. I went to pick her up last night and she chirps like its the end of the world. A couple of strokes over her feathers and some quiet murmurings and she melts into my hand and closes her eyes. "Yes, you may pet me until I fall asleep." Love it!
Free to good home.... Female black sex link and female black laced red Wyandotte. They are 4 and 6 weeks old. I just ended up with too many black chicks, I like to tell my hens apart by sight. Chicago suburbs. St Charles. Message me if you are interested.
I was sitting out on the grass watching everyone playing outside, my daughter, her bunny, the dog, the older chickens and the month old chicks....the dog barks at the fence for whatever reason, and the chicks all jump up in the air then run under my legs. Yes, little bitties, mommy will protect you.
