Me too. I have a blue rooster over partridge, and one white, hens. First batch was all partridge and one white. Last three hatches have been all blue... Gotta love genetics
I hatched out this crazy lookin partridge rooster. I am in love with the coloring. Unfortunately it's not going to improve my type, so he's either going too freezer camp or a new home.
How old are they, and how often do they
My silkie hens (the moms) give me 4-6 eggs a week when not brooding. The oldest silkies I have for sale are 4 months old, silkies mature slowly so I'm not expecting eggs anytime soon.
Sorry I only have a surplus of silkies right now. I rehomed my older hens earlier this year, I'm starting from scratch this year.
I'll be at work for the rest of the evening so sorry for the delay
So after a stressful night shift, I noticed an empty egg shell in the broody coop. So I got to meet this little guy when the sun came up. A little blue silkie.
Also the guys from January are almost all grown up. Anyone need a silkie? I feel like I have too many broody hens.
Yall remember these chicks?
Here they are 4 months later...
Still not 100% on the gender but they are for sale and I am in central Texas if anyone is interested.
I'm thinking a rat got em cause one completely disappeared and I found another across the yard. I brought them inside after that. It's a cochin maran cross.
4 total, 3 pictured. 2 partridge, 2 white..but they both still sit on the remaining eggs. They also take turns taking the babies out to eat! Nature is crazy awesome. Will they know when to leave the nest for good? I know they can tell, but Im having doubts. Chickens are stressful sometimes.
I just got off of work so ill check in the morning. I really hope more hatch...all 24 eggs had life the last time I candled and Ive been pretty hands off so we shall see.
